Name: Amanda Nicole Leigh
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Bloodline: Muggle-born
Year: The Sixth
House: Gryffindor
Wand: Ebony, 11", Dragon Heartstring. Excellent for protection and transfiguration
Personality: Amanda Leigh isn't a girl that likes to hide in the dark. All her days, she's tried to keep a high profile, making herself known if even only in small ways. A fiery sort, Amanda is quite passionate about everything, and her emotions can get in the way of logical judgement quite often. While she is fiery, she can also be warm and loving, and regards her closest friends as family. Both passionate and compassionate, Amanda can be a very naive little firecracker, sometimes attracting lost causes. Especially with certain people, she is prone to get very angry over very petty matters if they are repeated.
When she is in need of time to cool down and take a break from the day, Amanda usually finds herself crammed into a corner of the Library or drawing by the Lake. Her extra studies she buries her excess emotions in usually have something to do with protection and curse reversals.
Appearance: Amanda's appearance is much like her personality: bold, lively, and conspicuous. The vivid red colour of her hair makes Amanda stick out like a sore thumb in a crowd, especially with her pale freckled skin. Inquisitive bright green eyes sparkle with new plots to explore the mysteries of the castle, while she only gives a small, mischevious smile.
Amanda form is slightly curvy, but she remains adamant about the fact that she doesn't think she's THAT pretty. A modest plain-Jane kind of beauty lingers about her, though she could probably do much better with a change of hair and wardrobe.
In dress she is modest when not in uniform, usually preferring layers to keep the sun off her easily burnt skin. The norm is a blouse of dark colour and a pair of dark coloured pants. Amanda isn't one for bright colours, as they make her look ill and washed out.
History: Amanda was born a muggle to a pair of rather strange people. Her mother read tarot cards and made jewelry for a living, and her father was a member of the Golden Dawn in Britain. Though her parents are from Scotland, Amanda is British born and bred, though she enjoys American science fiction movies from the 1950s. Her two siblings, Sarah and Charles, graduated from respectable muggle academies, showing no signs of magical ability.
Since the fateful day the letter dropped onto her coffee at an outdoor cafe`, Amanda had known her place in the world as a witch at Hogwarts. Many times she had recieved detention for her curiousity, crossing thresholds with a few choice teachers who had learned to loathe her over the years. Many times, Amanda had stuck her wand out for the little guy, a crusader for the underdogs and a poor judge of when she'd gone too far for an acquaintence.
In her history of Hogwarts, she had never been kissed by a fellow student, and the one matter that she stayed out of the spotlight in is love. Enemies she had, but lovers and boyfriends she did not. For reasons unknown, Amanda hadn't tried out for Quidditch by her 6th year, much to the surprise of some.
Roleplay Sample: (I'm lazy, so I'm going to use the a nice sample from MRP Reloaded that I made.)
Amanda placed a strange brew over the fire, the tendrils of flame licked the enchanted cast iron belly and warmed the contents. Quickly she grabbed a pouch of a shimmering powder and poured some onto her scales, measuring out five grams of the mystery ingredient before she poured it into the concoction, producing a purple smoke that lifted up over the cauldron and into the air around the fireplace. Next a small bag of some sort of leaves went in, making a sweet smell waft out into the common room, which was for once rather empty.
A first-year came down the stairs noisily and she glared at him, putting a finger to her lips and pointing to a couch for him to go ahead and sit down at. The wispy little boy obeyed, a little scared of the more mature teenage girl with the vivid hair. A loud bang issued from the cauldron after a few minutes, and Amanda giggled, peering down into the cauldron.
The potion she experimented with was a shimmering green now, and shifted colours. Green, purple, red, claret, orange, and then it stopped at pink, the pink of the Pink Panther. Glorious! The potion was complete, and she filled three flasks with the concoction before making the rest vanish and changing the fire back to normal.
As the portal for the portrait swung open, she smiled mischeviously and hid the leather-wrapped flasks in the inner pockets of her robes. Tiny bells jingled inside the pockets as they were disturbed by the flasks, but were barely heard.
