RULES:[/u]
1. Don’t ruin the message boards with out of character posts. That’s what the main out of character category is for. Otherwise, if out of character posts were seen around the roleplaying threads, how are we going to enjoy roleplaying when all we can comment to is, “Did you see Law & Order last night?”
2. Violence and constant swearing will not be permitted around this site. This is a roleplaying site, and not a site where you can act like it’s dark reality, because it’s not. Swearing at other members is not a sign of politeness, and to attract more attention to the threads, we should present ourselves as respectable people.
3. This is no dating site. You don’t come here to find yourself a partner, because this is role-playing. Not dating. I can see in character dating with characters. If I find that out of hand, you will receive a five day ban and your warning level increased for anything that is not of my liking.
4. This is a literate/advanced site, so I do not want to see posts like: *sits down* hi *says*. Not only do asterisks deserve to die, but I can’t see any pictured image at all. I want to see this roleplay more like life. I want to see vivid descriptions and correct grammar.
5. No powerplaying. No Godmoding. No Mary-Sues. No Gary-Stus. And, no illiterates. They are not allowed. Say if you wanted to kiss someone, that would be acceptable. It creates more conflict to the role-play, and a lot more fun. “He leaned forward, grabbing her by the arm to wrap his hands around her waist, and pressed his lips upon hers” is acceptable.
6. No added veela, vampires, werewolves, exchange students, animagus’ or anything of that sort. I can’t even accept any characters related to the originals. I don’t see the point in them, so why bother? Nor should the characters have any names of celebrities of any sort. I’ve seen a lot of Emma Watson students roaming Hogwarts on many boards. (Your character shouldn’t have their full name. I can understand Lewis or Medley as a last name, but as long as it isn’t Radcliffe or Grint or Watson… Anything huge.)
7. I will not accept any form of signatures unless it includes the following: Name, Year, Wand, Pet, Classes Taken, et cetera. (Just the basic.) Any images in signatures are not allowed, nor song lyrics or anything that can distract the interactive role-playing experience to seem it’s more present day. HOWEVER! You are allowed to have images of what your character looks like. They must be at least 300x500/500x300 or less.
8. All avatars and/or signatures must be related to your character or anything Harry Potter related. The avatars must be at least a headshot of your character. Signatures can be anything Harry Potter/Hogwarts related. If this rule has been broken, I will personally take off your avatar and signature and give a warning.
9. These rules should not be broken at all. If I find any problems or conflicts arising that shows you have lied to your application and stirred trouble to this site, you will suffer a five-day ban. Any further problems results in permanent expulsion from the site. You should place ‘falling raindrops’ to your application to prove you have read everything! This should be placed where I've asked the question whether you've read the rules or not.
10. One major issue with roleplaying is the competition. People always want to get their post in, and many are paranoid that someone might post while they are writing to respond to the same thing. This also means people tend to make short, pointless posts as well. Try to write something meaningful, even if it isn't long, and don't move a story up 20 posts with pointless conversation in a matter of 10 minutes.
11. Be sure to read all the posts in a particular quest before joining. It will save much confusion. Also be sure to read all the posts between your own, so that you don't miss anything during the quest. This can sometimes be a burden depending on how many posts have been done during your absence, so you may pot. to have your character leave the story by some means (PM the creator of the thread before doing so, don't make a post in the story simply saying you quit either.)
12. The Golden Rule: Have fun! This isn't a forum made to bore you to tears. The best part of this forum is roleplaying, and if you enjoy the experience, than keep it up and have fun!
